Bohdan Biekietov escapes Ukraine to pursue basketball in America

Moving to a new school can take some getting used to, a new country however, is a whole new ball game. 6’9 Bohdan Biekietov has only been in America a few months but has made a quick impact at Montgomery High School, helping lead the Cougars to a Central Group 4 State Title for the first time since 2020. Biekietov hailing from the war torn country of Ukraine made the jump to the U.S. after spending some brief time playing in Spain. Despite his father Demitiri still serving his country back in Ukraine, the junior whose favorite basketball player is Steph Curry is enjoying the American Basketball experience and loving every minute of it.
